NameDante
ModelT61
BrandLenovo
Hard Drive500GB SATA II
ProcessorCentrino Dual-Core 2.1GHz
RAM2GB DDR2
OSLinux - Debian 6 "Squeeze" / Windows - 7 Ultimate
PurposeMain Computer / Portable Battle Station
BackgroundBack in the day I got this laptop from a friend who was bringing them all the way from Chicago. Knowing how battle hardened IBM and Lenovo are I decided to go for the next one in the batch, anything as a matter of fact since I could sell it in case it didn't do the trick for me, and I got this beautiful T61 Lenovo laptop with 1 GB of RAM and 60 GB Hard Drive, which were obviously changed since I wasn't flying with that. Originally had Windows XP which was good for a while, that is until it began to slow down, then went for Windows 7, out of curiosity but still it also started to break down and driver support turned out to be limited which is what I blame mostly in the case of IBM and Lenovo, and finally ended up with Linux, Debian as matter of fact, and I haven't turned my back to it yet. I haven't moved this laptop from my desk, I rarely move laptops around, and have always used it as my main Battle Station.

BrandAMD/Gigabyte
Hard Drive40GB IDE x2
ProcessorAMD 64 x2 2.0Ghz
RAM2GB DDR-400
OSWindows XP SP3
PurposeMain Computer / Gaming Computer
BackgroundThis computer is a considerable mayor upgrade in regards to the current PCs available at home. With Windows XP SP3 this thing flies and even though the specs may be a little out of the league of most games it is still a respectable fighter and with a PCI Express port running a 256MB nVidia 8600 GT it quite makes it worthwhile although I could always go for something else and make it even more worthwhile.

There was an interesting problem with this desktop when I first got it, the thing wouldn't turn on until it got fondled with and not in the good way. Weeks later it stopped working and after switching the PSU for the ancient heart of another AMD PC the computer has been working just fine and colder than any other PC I've ever had with 7 fans inside of it.
